Release and Rise - Ecstatic Dance and Workshop
This journey invites you to release tension, reconnect with your body, and rise into freedom of movement.
We begin with a guided fascia exploration inspired by Tom Myers’ Anatomy Trains. Together we will:
Learn about the body’s main fascial lines and how they affect posture, balance, and freedom.
Use simple self-screening movements to sense where our fascia may feel tight, stuck, or out of symmetry.
Map our own discoveries on a paper outline body figure, to take notes and bring awareness to our unique patterns.
Explore targeted movements, breathwork, Yin Yoga poses, and even playful animal-inspired drills to release and hydrate fascia.
Fascia & Emotions
Latest research and therapeutic practice show that fascia is not only structural but also emotional. Traumatic experiences and unexpressed feelings can be stored within the body's connective tissue, often manifesting as chronic tightness, imbalance, or unexplained discomfort. Talking alone cannot always reach these places — they are released through movement, breath, and embodied presence. This workshop provides a safe space to access, express, and gently let go of what the body is ready to release.
We then gather in an open circle, practicing grounding breaths and meditation, and from here, the energy rises into a specially curated Ecstatic Dance Wave. The dance offers a space to integrate your fascial discoveries into free, own expressive movement, supported by music that carries you from deep grounding to expansive release and back to gentle stillness.
The evening closes with calming breath and relaxation, allowing the experience to settle in body and mind.

Ecstatic Dance - Move . Feel . Heal . Be Free -
Hi! I’m Téia
I’m an Ecstatic Dance DJ, embodiment dancer and facilitator, also co-creator of Ecstatic Dance Cambridge.
I craft dance floors where wildness is welcome, silence speaks, and every beat is a call home to yourself.
Each set I play is a story — unpredictable, alive, pulsing with rhythm and soul.
You might hear tribal drums tangled with opera. Techno melting into tenderness. Soulful house, wild rock, earthy basslines, and delicate classical threads.
No borders. Just waves of sound guiding bodies into truth
My offerings — especially those related to the Release and Rise workshops — are rooted in fascia-aware movement, an intuitive, somatic journey that invites deep release, hydration of the tissues, and emotional integration through dance. It’s a space where tension dissolves, breath returns, and the body reclaims its fluid intelligence..
My Ethos - What I Offer
Why I Dance — and Invite You To
Ecstatic Dance is a path of healing through movement.
It’s a space where masks fall away.
Where your body becomes your compass.
Where you don’t need to get it right — you just need to feel.
I hold space for freedom, connection, and the deep, beautiful unknown.
For laughter, tears, play, release.
For the parts of you that don’t speak in words.
Every session is a ceremony of becoming — and returning.
Release and Rise
A New Workshop for Dancers & Movers
Release and Rise is a new project I’m developing, combining everything I’ve learned as a Hatha Yoga and Yin Yoga teacher, Ecstatic Dance DJ and facilitator, my own experience as a conscious dancer for over five years, and my current studies in fascia and the extracellular matrix — the deep connective tissue that holds both movement and emotion. Learned from Tom Myers, John Polley and Claire Graziano and her pionering work at the Center for Somatic and Embodiment Therapy in Cambridge.
This offering is especially designed for dancers and embodied movers who want to explore:
Letting go of physical and emotional tension through slow, fascia-aware movement
Gaining more fluidity and freedom in the body
Expressing themselves through intuitive dance, supported by carefully curated music
Finding embodiment, stillness, softness, and emotional safety in their practice
Each session blends floor-based Yin-style movement, somatic release, and moments of free dance — always guided with presence, music, and care.
I’m currently offering Release and Rise as a pilot project and would love to co-create with dance schools, studios, or movement communities who feel drawn to this work.
If this resonates with you, or if you’d like to explore a trial session, please don't hesitate to reach out — I’d be delighted to hear from you.

What Dancers Say:
“The guests at my party loved the set that Teia dj'ed. It was original and fun and was a great mixture of flowing, chilled tracks and higher energy, heart-pumping, feet pounding, rhythmic beats. Teia brings her beautiful energy to everything that she facilitates. ‘
Jan Carver 26/03/2024”
‘Téia shines as a facilitator, particularly in creating a welcoming and positive atmosphere, leading deeply relaxing and connecting breathwork, soundbathing, and meditation sessions that release tension. Participants appreciate the warmth and sense of community cultivated at the events, and Téia's storytelling during grounding exercises, like the "re-born into music" narrative, resonates strongly. While collaborating with other DJs, Téia's distinct contribution often centers around guiding participants into a state of relaxation and mindfulness, appreciated by many as a highlight of the experience.’
Dandelion Events summary - April/2025
‘I was recently exposed to Teia's dj'ing. Teia was constantly matching and accentuating the group's energy with flowing chilled tracks to amassing high energy beats to almost meditative melodic tunes; I was dancing for 2+ hours non-stop, and so were my friends. Thank you, Teia, for the special night!’
Stelios Voutsaras 27/03/2024
‘‘Téia was a superb DJ at my recent birthday party. All of the 60 guests agreed that her music choice was exquisite. With great intuition and skill, she created a beautiful ambience for a blooming, fabulous event. I highly recommend her!’
